HEALTHY PROTEIN SHAKE FOR KIDS

We are all in a time bind.  We are being rushed out the door — and yet you and your toddler still need to be fed.  My go-to answer is the BANANA CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE!  (or better yet, BANANA CHOCOLATE ALMOND BUTTER SMOOTHIE!)  There’s nothing easier than whipping up a healthy protein shake for kids.

INGREDIENTS

1 scoop Sun Warrior vegan brown rice protein – I like Classic VANILLA.

1 frozen banana (broken in half) (Make sure it’s frozen as this is what gives the smoothie its creamy and decadent texture.)

One cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or better yet, make your own!).  (For extra yumminess, I fill a cup with frozen almond milk ice cubes.  Then I fill the remaining space in the cup with liquid almond milk.)

1/2 cup spinach or kale (or however much is desired)

1 T organic raw cacao powder

1-2 dates (no pits)

1-2 T of almond butter / peanut butter (I use Barney Butter almond butter.)

at least 2 teaspoons chia or flax seeds (optional)

couple drops stevia (optional)

1 Tbsp sweetened cacao nibs (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Blend all the ingredients (except for cacao nibs) in a Vitamix or high speed blender until smooth and creamy.

Top with cacao nibs.

Yum!  Stick it in a to-go cup and get to work / school!  Easy Peazy!  Hope you enjoyed my recipe for a healthy protein shake for kids!
